Sara C | BURN, Yoga

Sara is a Richmonder through and through. Born and raised in RVA (Midlothian, close enough) she attended the University of Richmond where she was a cheerleader (and got to cheer on the Spiders at the 2010 Sweet 16 - talk about a core memory) and majored in marketing. After graduating in 2014, she developed a strong vinyasa yoga practice but it was when she moved to Montgomery, Alabama that she really deepened her practice and had her first “out of body” yoga experience after she sweat through a heated Ashtanga yoga class and found herself in Savasana while Pink Floyd blasted through the speakers, in total awe of what she just experienced.
Sara spent the next few years developing her practice and took workshops with Kino MacGregor and Tim Feldmann. This newfound passion and respect for the practice led Sara to complete her 200 hr YTT before moving back home in 2018.
Upon moving back to Richmond, Sara struggled to find a studio that ignited the same fire within her that she found in Alabama. She wanted heat, power, and energizing music. Enter the Hot Yoga Barre. Sara took her first HYB class in May of 2022, joined Karma Krew in July, and knew she had found her new home.
Sara has also always had a love for group exercise (body combat and body pump are her jams) and eagerly took on Burn Teacher Training as a way to dive into a new format of teaching. She is excited to be a “cheerleader” again and help her students’ find what motivates them.
Sara lives south of the River with her husband, Joey and their two fur babies. She currently works as a category manager for a grocery distributor and loves to spend her free time baking her way into the hearts of those around her (and even won best tasting cupcakes at Joey’s real estate office’s Cupcake Wars in 2022).
